WhatcomCounts.org is a one-stop source of information about the health of our community. Sponsored by the Whatcom Coalition for Healthy Communities, WhatcomCounts.org is independent and nonbiased. Its purpose is simply to connect people and information and promote community action.

WhatcomCounts.org allows each of us to find ways to make our community an even healthier place to live, work and play. New information is added regularly, so be sure to check back often to make more discoveries.

After all, a healthy community is up to all of us.

Leadership Whatcom is a leadership development program designed specifically for our community. The program explores community conditions that impact social, environmental and economic vitality in our county, while enhancing participants' development of leadership awareness and skills. The program offers a rare and dynamic venue for Whatcom County residents from all walks of life to develop skills necessary to find common ground.

Our 2007-2008 program is currently in session. Applications are currently being accepted for the 2007-2008 program year. Applications can be downloaded from the Leadership Whatcom website.

We accept up to 24 participants each year who participate in a ten month program. This small class size allows for a high level of interaction and involvement. The goal is for each class to reflect the many communities that comprise Whatcom County. The selection process ensures a mix of existing and emerging leaders, as well as variety among age, race, geography, experience and other characteristics. The program explores the opportunities and challenges we face and the complexities of taking action.
